Depression isn't always loud. It can creep in quietly, making life feel heavier, slower, or strangely distant. Things that once mattered may feel flat or pointless. You might feel numb, hopeless, or disconnected from yourself and the people around you. For some, depression shows up as self-criticism- that you’re "too much" or "not enough."
Even simple things- replying to a message, getting dressed, taking a shower- can feel exhausting and overwhelming. Depression has a way of convincing you that you’re alone in this. You’re not. You don’t have to carry it all on your own.
Counselling for Depression
At Third Path Therapy, there’s no pressure to “snap out of it” or pretend you’re okay. You can show up exactly as you are- low, angry, tearful, numb, or unsure where to begin. There’s no right or wrong way to feel here. My role isn’t to push or offer quick fixes. Instead, I offer a real, compassionate relationship where you don't have to face things alone. Together, we’ll make sense of what you’ve been carrying- your beliefs, feelings, and experiences- so things can start to feel lighter and more manageable. Rather than fighting your feelings, person-centred counselling helps you understand what they're trying to tell you. Over time, this can bring clarity, relief, and a growing sense of confidence and control.
What I Offer
I support adults living with many forms of depression- from ongoing low mood and loss of motivation, to deeper struggles related to burnout, trauma, or long-term stress. Some clients come to therapy feeling stuck or numb. Others feel overwhelmed, lost, or unsure how to put what they feel into words. I also work with people whose depression is connected to life events such as bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-worth, and chronic health issues. Whatever your experience looks like, we can work together to find a path forward that feels right for you.
Who I Support
At Third Path Therapy, you don’t have to censor yourself or put on a brave face. This is a place where you can be yourself, speak freely, and be met with understanding. You set the pace, and we follow what feels right for you- whether that means exploring painful experiences, sitting with difficult emotions, or simply having space to be heard. Over time, clients often find themselves: • developing greater self-compassion and understanding • reconnecting with their feelings and needs • rediscovering a sense of identity and direction • feeling more grounded and emotionally resilient Here, counselling isn't about fixing you. It’s about helping you reconnect with parts of yourself that may have been lost or overwhelmed, allowing change to happen naturally and in a way that feels authentic to you.
